A digital photograph begins in the mind of the photographer, it materializes when the light hits the sensor and it ends on a piece of gorgeous paper that completes the story and gives it form and substance. The choice of paper is part of the process and needs to be taken into account at the moment of creating the image on the field. During this talk you will learn how different papers tell different stories and how to shoot with intent, with the goal of hanging your creating on a wall for everyone to enjoy.
This talk will present several different physical images, telling their stories, the artistic visions and the creative decisions that went into printing each one of them, while exploring the characteristics of different papers and how they participating in telling your own unique story. Some of the technical details of the printing process will be touched, when they are relevant to the stories being told.

About Francesco Carucci:
Engineer and Artist, Public Speaker, Professional Photographer

"I grew up in Italy, surrounded by beauty and history, a wonderful  landscape and two millennia of culture. Being good with numbers, I followed the path of the engineer, until I found myself with a camera in my hands.
I was hooked."

"For more than ten years I travelled from Europe to California, through Hawaii and Asia, often joined by the people I love, to chase the light and capture the Nature I see. The few glimpses I catch, I share with you."

"I place great importance on constantly improving my technique and tools; every collector deserves the best quality that can be provided in my images and the emotions they convey are enhanced and strengthened by clarity"

"I'm a self-taught photographer; I had to work hard to bridge the artistic gap that separated me from the Masters who inspire me. Being on the field with the people I love and capturing what I feel is the only way I know to improve."

Francesco's work has been exhibited in several galleries across the US and it's been consistently awarded merits at the prestigious PPA International Photography Competition.
