Brady Thomas

Brady Thomas comes from a long line of artists including fine art portraitists and photographers, but didn’t pick up a camera until she met now husband Ken Mendoza in 2002.
They shot their first wedding together for a friend in 2005, and while working regular 9-5’s, opened the first of 3 wedding photography brands in 2008. Endless investment in gear, education courses, conventions, memberships and mentorships happened in those years, and still do. Brady left the corporate world in 2009 for full time wedding photography, and Ken joined her the following year.

Brady finished a fashion merchandising degree from FIDM in Los Angeles before moving up to the Bay Area in 1998 to attend UC Berkeley. Inspired by her creative fashion & classic portrait roots, she left wedding photography behind in 2016 and built a home studio with a desire to create beautiful legacy photographs for women and the people and pets they love. When the short ceilings at home proved difficult to shoot dancers or tall families, she went looking for a studio with nice light and tall ceilings. Her current studio in the historic landmark Benicia Arsenal is a huge creative space dating from 1877 with amazing light and 20’ ceilings!

Brady’s competition awards include PPWC 2021 Photographer of the Year, an Associate of WPPI, and will receive her M.Photog degree from PPA in 2023. Still, most precious to her are her amazed and delighted clientele, many of whom return again and again for a portrait experience in her studio.
