Hands On Dog Photography
with Barbara Brady - Smith

Artful Dog Photography is not easy! Join Barbara Brady-Smith for an exciting all-day workshop on March 12, 2020. You will be learning and practicing the skills needed to capture beautiful images of dogs that clients will be proud to display.

You will learn:
How to prepare for a session with a dog
Camera and lens considerations
Tips and tricks for successful posing and attention getting
How to use studio lighting with dogs
How to handle dogs big and small and sessions with multiple dogs
How to recognize that a dog has had enough
How to successfully incorporate pets with their people
If weather is cooperating, we will head outside so participants can practice capturing action and using reflectors and scrims.

All participants will have the opportunity to photograph a wide range of beautiful dogs and practice the tips and tricks they have learned. All dogs and models will be fully model released.

Barbara will also share her post processing short-cuts for leash removal, coat ‘fixing,’ and other tools she uses to convert beautiful portraits into fine art. Barbara regularly teaches Photoshop and Lightroom techniques, so you are sure to learn a lot!

Note that due to the extensive hands on experience, participation is limited to 12 students.

Barbara Brady-Smith burst on the Pet Photography scene in 2011 and quickly established herself as a true artisan in this niche. Her animal photography can be seen in happy homes and on pet food product packaging, annual report covers and print advertising.

Much of her success she attributes to her deep appreciation for the joy animals bring into our lives. She actively shares this joy through photography and by volunteering with her two therapy dogs providing comfort to people of all ages.
